It has been reported that Notre Dame and Texas will play each other in football beginning in 2015. This game will also open the 2015 football season on September 5. ND will then travel to Texas in 2016 to play the Longhorns. The series will take a break and return to Texas in 2019 and back to South Bend in 2020. Notre Dame and Texas are not strangers to each other and have played in the past. ND leads the Series against the Longhorns 8-2, but have not played each other since 1995.
