Notre Dame Football Field to be Resurfaced with Turf

The University of Notre Dame announced in April plans to redo their football field and lay down turf instead of regular grass. This will ark the first time in history Notre Dame has replaced their traditional grass field with artificial turf. The football team already has two outdoor turf practice facilities as well as an indoor one. Also announced was the resurfacing of the baseball field to involve a turf surface as well. The installation of the new turf football field will begin after commencement which takes place the weekend of May 17-18, and will be done in time for their August 30 kickoff with the Rice Owls.
