Calvert accepted into the Sandusky Bay Conference

Calvert was accepted into the Sandusky Bay Conference (SBC) this past week. Calvert will join Lakota, New Riegel, Old Fort, St. Mary C.C., St. Joseph C.C., and St. Wendelin from the Sandusky River League and independent Vermillion.

With the addition of these eight schools the SBC will split up into two divisions, Bay and River. The Bay Division will consist of Clyde, Edison, Huron, Oak Harbor Perkins and Port Clinton from the current SBC plus Vermillion. The River Division will consist of the current SRL schools plus Calvert from the TAAC. Maggaretta, a current SBC school, will join the River Division for football and wrestling, but compete in the Bay Division for all other sports.

Calvert is no stranger to the SBC. They previously competed in the conference from 1958-1966 and from 1972-1986.

The expanded SBC will begin in the 2016-17 school year. Calvert's last year in the TAAC will be next school year.
